I have been a member for some time, did very well before and then relapsed.

I was warned at the beginning of the year by the doctor that my blood pressure was too high and that I should stop drinking. He threatened to put me on tablets for this I was referred to a counsellor and after a few weeks started an
"ARA" non abstinence meeting two times a week. Half way through I decided to give up the grog for good and that was 30 days ago !!

I have been to a one Smart and AA meeting since I finished ARA and am feeling really good . The AA meeting seemed a bit strange though but I will persist with it.

My BP was 159/101 before and after 3 weeks off of the booze it was down to 135/85'.

So Paul is giving himself a pat on the back but I am mindful that it is only too easy to pick up another drink !!!

I had my bp taken yesterday. 120/72. Not bad for an out of shape 55 yr old. It was much higher during my drinking times. I'm at 6 months. Everything gets better. My stomach problems are gone too!
