2 weeks down

Other than the feelings of impatience I've already mentioned, and feeling a little hyper and restless at times, I'm doing well. I often don't need my bp meds at all, and for the most part, am sleeping and eating well. I get daily exercise and am finally getting things accomplished at my house I put off during the weeks I was laying around being a drunken slug. It's been a very busy week at work - unusually so - and that's a little overwhelming at times because my head is still somewhat foggy, but I'm making my way through. Feels good to be back on the right track again!

Congratulations on 2 weeks!!!! That's awesome.

Glad you mentioned work, as I am going back next week and know it will be overwhelming! Would you mind sharing some tips on how you are handling that? Much appreciated.

And, btw, I love your posts....

Good to hear. I think that is what sobriety is meant to be like. Long may it last

I'm mostly forcing myself to slow down and focus on one task at a time. "Triaging," I believe, is what an old friend of mine used to call it. I have to put out of my head all the other crap that needed to be done yesterday and whatever else is coming up tomorrow. It takes a level of discipline I struggle to find even when I've been sober for longer, but I just make myself do it. When you need to keep your job, you find you'll do whatever you have to do!
