Day 4 why the tiredness

I am on day four and doing okay apart from the odd panic when I get the urge to have a glass of wine, however I am suffering from really bad fatigue and when I do go to sleep I am getting not nightmares but really strange dreams. I thought insomnia rather than fatigue happened with withdrawals. Is this normal?

Congrats on day four! I think fatigue is part of the withdrawal. I get it for up to a week after my last drink. What I've noticed as I've aged is that the tiredness and fatigue lasts a LOT longer now than it did when I was young and spry.

Thanks nightwatch, I am 50 so I guess this is why. Hopefully this will only last a week as it is awful, not as bad a some of the hangovers I have had so can put up with it.

Well done on day 4. Each one of us , have come across different kind of withdrawal symptoms. I used to get night terrors like, seeing some intruder in my bedroom , with my eyes wide open and I knew , it was not a dream. It was a condition produced because of the sleep disturbance and my heavy usage of alcohol which deprived me from REM sleep , for years. It was so scary having, visual night terrors that I might had a heart attack. It was good that I decided to visit a doc and he gave me the required medicine to get through the scary withdrawals.

Please do not take any chances and go for a safe detox. If you have already not done so far, it is a good idea to visit a doc.

Might just be a normal cycle. I suspect people who have never had a drop of alcohol in their lives have days when they are tired or fatigued.

Four days is awesome, keep it going!

I just crashed out for the first few weeks, I wasn't sleeping right so I was shattered all day, but in time it all passed eventually!!
