So we are back home, trying to reconcile with husband and reunite our family. Its good to see old friends and attend my home al anon group. There are lots of triggers for me though, lots of icky memories that resurface. I was caught off guard by the rage that came up as soon as I got back. Its starting to die down. I feel in control of my life now. Before the alcohol ruled every thought and action, not just for my husband but for me too. I know I will never put up with that again. If he chooses to go down that path again he goes alone.

I feel stronger than I have in a long time. I have a job interview soon that just fell into my lap. I can get my career back on track. I think coming back was the right choice regardless of what happens in the relationship.

I don't think I would be in such a good place right now if it werent for this website, al anon, and a good counselor who understands addiction. I finally feel some of that serenity I've heard so much about. Lots of things are still in flux but I no longer feel like I live in a tornado. Wishing all of you some serenity this evening.

For now things are good. I'm happy, kids are happy. Hopefully the sun comes out and we can jump in the pool.

Seems like I missed a lot Catherine--last post I recall you had moved away,
were angry at his affair, and not wanting him to fly back to join you.

Sounds like lots has happened with his recovery and yours.
I wish you and your family the best but be careful
