How many times until I get it

Well I had a solid two weeks of sobriety, but that was several weeks ago. I had a success at work and my boss took our group out ... You know what happened of course.

Now I'm waking up from basically several weeks of drunk days all in a row.

I want to quit. So today is my new day one, yet again.

Welcome, and it's good that you've decided to put a stop to the madness and get back on track!

Welcome back.

Are you planning to do anything different this time that you didn't do last time?

those situations are rough on somebody new to sobriety but with time we must learn not to drink no matter what.

i guess as many times as you need to, as long as you honestly want to stay sober.

most of us have been trying and re-trying many times. it's part of the process.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the support. Nonsensical, I think this time I am going to need to realize that I can't trust myself around alcohol so soon. I could have come up with an excuse and not gone out, a part if me knew it was going to end up like it did. Also, once I slipped up I let it turn into the same old getting bombed every single day rather than immediately correcting my mistake. I am looking into recovery groups and will try to attend as well. Time to get serious and make recovery my #1 focus.

Welcome back Thanos!!

For me, I needed to realise I wasn't simply not drinking, but instead once I got into the mind frame of changing my whole lifestyle to one that was Sober I started to see more longer term results.

The other thing I learned, which ties into your story, was a period of abstinence in no way cures or fixes me, the 1st drink will always lead to a binge no matter if I am 2 weeks Sober, or 2 Years, it'll be the same outcome as nothing has changed with me.

You can do this, go at it again, change the plan, and the result will come!!
