Homeless party
So yesterday the homeless on our street decided to throw a party. God knows how this came about, I think some students moving out gave them their leftover cases of beer and they just decided to make the most of it.
It started off with ten of them hanging about chatting, then some students joined them. Then a student brought a boombox.
Then the whole bloody street joined in.
The police came to break the thing up but upon discovering everybody was involved and no one seemed to care, decided to just leave it alone and keep an eye on things every now and again.
Someone started a bbq in their garden where people could get free food. There was a pot to buy burgers and things.
What struck me was how when you tear the barriers down, all drinkers look and act the same.
I'm not saying that to judge them for drinking, some people can handle it and I'm glad they had a good time. But I can assure you that magical personality trait some imagine will prevent them from ever becoming homeless does not exist.
