Damn when i drink im lucky to eat once a day but sober far out, i cant stop eating... Like replacing one for another.. Glad i exercise most days....
Chocolate, beef, chicken, veggies, ice cream, chips, bananas list goes on....
Shows alcohol really destroys the digestive system IMO.
I love this more then drinking but

It's okay - there's a lot of sugar in alcohol, so many people notice strong sugar cravings after they quit drinking. This can last a while, and often people are eating lots of chocolate, ice cream, etc. Normally your weight gain is minimal, and many people lose weight when they quit drinking because calorie intake is still lower.
Try to eat as much fruit as possible: pineapples, mangoes, bananas, etc. That will help! Just stay off the drink!

Happened to me too.
You can work through it and lose the weight by increasing exercise, etc.
The important thing is to not drink alcohol whatever that takes.
In my case, it "took" a gelato machine but at least I can make low-sugar "any flavor I can dream up" ice cream now

I've read in many places that alcoholism is a thwarted sweet tooth. In the first few days after I stopped drinking nothing sweet was safe from me--and I'm not normally a big sweets eater. Actually I was ravenously hungry in general, no doubt because I was malnourished. When one's main fuel is rum and Coke, one's not exactly getting optimal nutrition. Things have calmed down, and I'm making sure that I'm eating as healthy as I can. The body is pleased with me.
