Hi James! Welcome to the pickle jar. This place is such a great resource. I use SR in conjunction with my AA program. I am in the best place i've ever been in my life. I hope we can help you!

I think this'll be a good thing for me and hope to inspire anyone I can in these months to come. I really hope this will be the start of a new chapter for me and that this desire to stop drinking for good will last. I've really enjoyed reading the posts and love the site thus far. Might be just what I've needed since there aren't many meetings around here, only like 4/week, 1 I can make. So here's to day 2 of living sober!
welcome James, I found that SR became my alternative to meetings. Plus it is available any time you need it. Just to read or post something that is on your mind. I found this site invaluable in my early days - I'm approaching 6 months.
Congratulations on your decision to quit for good. It is a very wise choice.
Have you looked into AVRT? It's different than the AA approach. Look at the secular connections section. Take a 'tour' of this site. There is a lot of information available.

Thanks Brian, AVRT site is quite the eye opener. Looking forward to reading more after work!
Way to go with the upcoming 6 months, that's awesome

Made it half way through 'No More Hangovers' by Allen Carr on breaks last night and gotta say I like the new perspectives. Hoping this along with other tools/ideas I've gained here will help me through the long lonely weekend.
