Exploring town sober

My plan for today is to go to a new part of town to have a wander. This has always meant a pub crawl for me. When I have tried to clean up my act in the past I've decided not to leave home as I know I'll end up in the pub-but that leads to 'out' always meaning 'getting drunk'. Plus staying home has never stopped me getting drunk. As I am winging this attempt at sobering up I am coming up with tactics on the fly; this is my idea of keeping my brain too busy.

hi fugue, there are worse fates than exploring London sober! I would love to be there with my London Walks guide. Where are you planning to explore?

True! Just a different mindset to a wander! A walk around Hampstead I'm thinking.

I went to a brilliant Georgian house near Hampstead Heath. Have a great walk and I hope the weather's good for you.

If your walking then a travel card and no cash and no bank cards helps... if you don't have money you can't buy alcohol …
I pack a bag with snacks , a hat and water to go with ..

Bestwishes , m

Keeping busy is a good idea. When i first stopped drinking having a daily plan / routine to keep myself and my mind occupied really helped. Have a good day!
