Today I celebrate a victory
Today I celebrate a victory
I've been trying to clean up for 5 months, I'be placed every ounce ( pun intended) of my being into staying sober. I kept, and will keep telling myself, thinking sobriety will improve my health and being.
Today I received a pay and title promotion, I am now a supervisor. Many years ago, in a far off place, I went to many years of school and got a few professional degree's and undergrad degrees. Sadly, I squandered that opportunity to drink and gamble, but now there is a light hope.
I love my position, I am happy to be sober and things seem to be improving physically, personally and professionally. Maybe one day I will be able to use my degree's, but for tonight I celebrate my small victory.
I own this evening, I am on top of the world, tonight I've brought good news my family. I almost crying because my family has endured so much and never ever is good news part of the routine. I am looking forward to future successes!
I celebrate tonight with with BBQ shrimp, deep fried scallops and baked potatoes (I never did cook before my sobriety).
I just wanted to share this with everyone, get sober and things do get better. I've had lots of relapses and am not so many days sober, but have more sober time then inebriated time in the last 5 months. Living for today, who knows what happens tomorrow, I beg the powers that be I can maintain this sobriety. Thank for reading friends, TDG
