Day 6.5 First Craving Since I quit.

I quit Saturday morning last weekend.
It's been a really emotional and great week. It's just that it's friday night and I feel like drinking beer and smoking cigarettes (haven't smoked since last saturday either) . It's not too strong of a craving though. It's just the first one. I haven't even considered drinking all week! Maybe because it's Friday night and I can be sick all day tomorrow and recover by sunday to have a productive work day on Monday? Why would I want to do that? I'm not going to go out and buy that beer, but I just feel like I should.

Well I think it's awesome that you posted here instead of just satisfying the craving. I'm finally learning that cravings pass, that I don't have to act on them. It's certainly understandable that Friday night is a bit of a trigger. Way to stay strong and I believe you'll be grateful when you wake up tomorrow morning and aren't feeling like crap

You have attacked both addictions. Now that's what I call an accomplishment. I quit Alcohol but need to quit cigarettes.

Wish I was solid as you. Well done! You inspire me.

Fridays nights are pretty ingrained in most drinkers - end of the working week., days off ahead...it's a clarion call.

You can resist - the call fades after a while

Thanks man... I figured it was best to get the pain over with all at once... This is what I WANTED. Bring on the pain! Bring on the Cravings! You can't beat me nicotine and alcohol! (Seriously though I think I need to go for a run like right now otherwise I'm going to loose my marbles.)
