Day 2!
Positives:
1. My first thought upon waking wasn't where/when will I purchase more wine today.
2. I didn't buy 3 bottles of wine yesterday and saved $30.
3. I didn't have to sneak into the garage and chug the 3 bottles.
4. I didn't ingest 3 bottles of wine and force my liver to detox.
5. Since there was no "yesterday," I don't have to figure out how to covertly disposed of 3 empty wine bottles.
Negatives:
1. Bad night of sleeping (but then again lately - they've all been bad). Also, night sweats are usually awful on Day 1, but last night was OK.
Off for 4 mile walk. Have a sober day everyone!

Congratulations on your first day sober. In observation of thousands of alcoholics we hugely improve our lives by abstaining from alcohol. For me the a big benefit is being comfortable in my own skin. Something that was suggested to me was to not think about drinking by quickly shifting my thinking. Many different things work if we work them.
BE WELL
BE WELL
You will start sleeping soon and it is awesome sleep. I love the feeling of not having to wonder if I left a bottle out that someone will find. Its nice not to have to worry about sneaking around and lying.
No more hiding and sneaking and getting rid of the evidence were big positives for me too! It's great to wake up free from those feelings. Keep looking at the positives...one day at a time. It gets better!
