the quest
hi guys i came to the site to hopefully get some support and encouragement from others with my journey of staying sober. im really a binge drinker once i start i cant stop and this usually in turn ends up in a blackout and not remembering what i did the previous night. i dont really drink everyday but when i do its pretty bad. just want to get full control of my life and be able to enjoy life sober and also all the money i spend on booze i could save for more important things. i have a child on the way so i guess that would be the first thing my money should be going to not to mention i already have two kids. Im just trying to find ways to keep myself busy and adjust to not drinking. so i figured maybe linking up with others like myself would make it easier.
Welcome aboard Cartiae & congrats on your upcoming baby
I think two things help any recovery - the first is finding the right level of support and using it; and the second is making changes in our lifestyles to reflect our commitment to not drinking.
You'll find a lot of help and support here - stick with us over the weekend

Welcome cartiae. It's great to meet you.
I was a binge drinker once. For me it led to drinking every day. I could never be sure what would happen once I had that first drink, & it became dangerous. I couldn't play with it any longer - it had to go.
I'm happy you decided to join us. It helps to be among those who understand.
