Day 11

I think I am slowly learning to let things go and not be a complete control freak. It's been a very stressful, busy week at work, after being off for a couple of weeks. I actually stopped this morning on my way in and said the Serenity Prayer. Didn't make the day any easier, but I sure dealt with it all much easier. I can't fix everything and have an answer for everything. Sometimes you just have to let it go. And I did ... and it worked. I feel so grateful for that, because the thought of stopping at the liquor store (my old way of dealing with a day like that) didn't enter my mind on the way home. That is a huge step for me ... I'm not having to flip that switch off, because it's not even on. It actually surprises me a bit to type that ... it's weird.

Day 11 done! Onward ....

Well done! Using the tools at your disposal is wonderful! Took you a minute to say the serenity and by doing this you killed the urge even before it started.

You killed that AV even before it had a chance. Poor little AV. LOL!

Well done Hokey! Serenity prayer always works for me in times of need.

Keep going.

Learning to just drive past the liquor stores was a big step for me too. I totally relate. Now, it's like they just don't apply to me anymore. Great work, Hokey.
Onward!

Excellent, Hokey, very pleased for you.

We've got inner strength that is just waiting for us to let it work.

Well done!

Bruce.
