Not new to this....
After 2 years of "playing" with Antabuse unsuccessfully I want to be free of the delusions I keep telling myself.
It's not ok to take one pill on a Sunday so I'm free to drink by Friday - it's not okay to lie to my kids about having the flu when I'm hung over - it's not okay to miss a play day with my grandson because I am too sick to get there.
These are only some of the shames I can say out loud at this point...
My goal this week is to get to a meeting - I have never been to one - and I'm currently researching what they're about and where I might fit into one.
I'm grateful for this sober recovery site and I have read a few posts that resonate with me.

Glad you joined the family IslaGirl. I felt all alone until I found SR - everyone here understands what you're dealing with.
I'm glad you were so honest with yourself about what's been going on. It's very hard to stop making excuses and to quit justifying our behavior. You're off to a great start.
