So his last ditch effort failed already

I'm not at all surprised. It's exactly what I exptected. My STBXAH who got served with divorce papers last week and begged for "one last chance" to prove himself has failed already.

His promise to me was he was going to get help, go to AA, get counseling and promised no more alcohol.

I found a bag in the garbage yesterday with a crumpled up tall beer can. I told him even one more drop of alcohol and I was done. Still back to his ususal MO of hiding it. He also has not gone to AA or made any effort to secure his own recovery in the week since he was served. His words are meaningless. He states he is ready to change, ready to be done drinking but yet still continues. I'm so sick of all the lies and manipulations.

I know for sure I am done. I also know no matter what I will be ok. That is such a change from when I first posted 2 years ago. It feel so good to have me back!!

I'm sorry he wasn't serious about recovery but I'm so glad you have freed yourself

Don't listen to what they say...watch what they do. The A will promise anything to keep the status quo. I'm sorry he isn't ready for recovery, but glad you are now clear minded in your decisions.
