Urges today
Urges today
It's a familiar pattern, I'm not very energetic today and feeling down, so a bottle seems like a good idea, but I don't have to think back very far to remember the terrible consequences that follow and the difficulty stopping to know that posting here is a much better idea then a trip to the liquor store.
Yeap, just play the video to the end in your mind, sure a trip to the liquor store might give a quick fix, but will you have 1 or the bottle? . . . if it was me, I'd have the bottle, black out into bed and hate myself tomorrow morning whilst nursing a hangover.
Great job on reaching out beforehand!!

Hi Gvrecovery,
There were discussions on cravings just yesterday, check out this link. I commented in this thread and also linked yet another thread with similar topic (scroll down for my post if you want) about how I tend to deal with my urges (little over 4 months sober). Really not always simple, and I feel for you. You can do it!

Hi Gvrecovery, know what you mean, but great that you came on and posted, instead of the trip to shop.
I've often felt the urge and sometimes took myself through the scenario, buying the wine, drinking and drinking and drinking, comatose then misgivings, regrets the next day, feeling lousy, down , self worth. I'd talked myself out of drinking after that.
