Lightbulb Newbie Roll Call

Hello all,

I am Triegger, an alcoholic on day 5 of sobriety. I will tell each and everyone of you I could not have done it without the people of SR. To each of you who have offered thoughts, prayers, advice, and support I say thank you.

As I read the boards each day, I try and check and see how we are all doing. There are so many of us struggling with addiction. I don't want anyone who needs support to slip through the cracks as the posts can move fast at times.

I thought it might be worth a try to create a thread for us to do check in's with each other just to let our brothers and sisters fighting the good fight know how we are doing.

So let me start:

Day 5 and Sober

Ok, guys let me know how you are.

Triegger

Day 70 for me. Been without my anti-depressants for 5 days now (not by choice, but snail mail) But I'm sure thankful that someone in the know turned me on to SR and for all of the wonderful people who moderate, chair meetings, and share experiences with all of us. Thank you all.

hey..

I am 28 and an alkie... I concur, this place is unreal for support and good people/friends.. Everytime I come back, I am welcomed with opened arms and kindness..

As per me being sober - doing my best, but decided tonight more drastic measures need to be taken...

Hope everyone is/was having a great sober day.

Much luv and prayers to each of you.

Sherry here-67 days. Other than having a pounding headache (just got backfrom taking kids camping!), I feel great. Glad to be back so I can talk to my friends at SR.

Hi, I'm hanging right there with you! Day 4 sober for me! The longest I've gone in years! Started AA this evening, reading the Big Book everynight and hope to find a sponser ASAP!

I couldn't have gone this long without the help of my SR friends!

  • I'm grateful I'm alive, clean and sober.
  • I'm grateful for my friend Sue who gently kept me from driving the 3 blocks home when I lost control back in December.
  • I'm grateful that the answer that I got in meditation on Monday was wait, which gives me hope.
  • I'm grateful that I've begun to recognize the addictive way in which I use computers (ironic here, no?).
  • I'm grateful that our primary computer at home failed this morning (this one takes the verb form of gratitude - it's more like gratitude for the AFGO).
  • I'm grateful that I've made it through a few days which feel like a return to the roller coaster without picking up.
James - who's trying to learn the verb form of gratitude (particularly for things that don't stir gratitude at first glance)
