Update

Hi friends,

Its been a long while since I've posted, today Im taking the time to reflect on the past 6 months , my son who I found out in December had turned from using OXy's to Heroin IV is clean 5 months now , at first when i found out about the heroin use it devastated me I had though stupidly as long as its not IV use he has a chance, well it did turn to that, it seems like here where I live we are loosing our youth to it , it all starts with the pills i guess because its cheaper then they move onto heroin. In January he turned himself into rehab, I'm guessing he finally saw he had a problem , so yes there is some good news 5 months clean is the longest he has been, he is on the vivitrol shot he says it helps extremely and although he is clean he is struggling ,vivitrol helps as long as you keep wanting to take the shot . Huggs to all

I'm glad he has that clean time, Lonelystar . I've always felt that the more time clean, the more chance the brain can heal and hopefully that helps with the struggle. I hope he reaches out for support and I am glad you are as well. It's a huge struggle for us too when our children battle addiction. Keeping you both in my thoughts.

Lone star so happy to hear this! I will keep you both in my prayers. With all the sadness, it is nice to hear the positive once in awhile!

Prayers for continued healing for your son. How it must make your heart glad, to see him in recovery.

Thank you for sharing this good news, Lonelystar.
