Worried until next week
Received a phone call from the doctor today saying results of my mammogram were abnormal. Of course that caused me to become immediately anxious. I have further testing on Tuesday, going to be a long weekend. My plan is to distract myself with kids and outdoors. Please send some prayers.

Diet Canada Dry is my jam! I can't tell you to not worry. Lord knows I would be. The thing to remember is that fretting and worrying won't bring any change to the situation. Remember to breathe and hope for the best. What will be will be. Isn't it great that you're sober and can take the best care of yourself through this? You are strong and you are brave enough to come here and share, rather than hide in fear. Your strength is inspiring. It's great to have you here. I'll send up some prayers for you. *hug*

If its any comfort to you, I've yet to have a mammo come back clear the first time. I have something called fibro cystic breast displasia. I was getting mammo's pretty often. I understand the ones they have now are much, much more sensitive so there's a higher chance of abnormalities being found. Please, relax, don't fret. I get an occasional cyst that seems to resolve on its own or once, I had the needle biopsy. No problems. I was told to avoid caffeine. I don't drink much caffeine as it makes my heart pound so no deal for me to abstain.
first things first. get the follow up. Get a second opinion if you're unsure of the first opinion.

Delilah - I too got a recall for my first mammogram (only had one so far) - apparently this is very much the norm in my country - I was told a high percentage get a call back - particularly because these are the first x-rays on record and comparisons can't be made with previous x-rays. I wasn't too concerned when I got the recall because I knew this was the case and everything ended up being fine.

Ugh, Delilah--so sorry. My wife also has been through this and all was well. Here's a load of optimism that the same will be true for you. Hope you can keep busy and stay productively distracted. Best wishes to you over the weekend.
