Hello...
Hello...
Hi everyone, finally decided to post here!
A little bit about me, been looking through this forum for about the last 8 months or so, figuring out that I probably had some issues with alcohol! I did a 30 day treatment five weeks ago and I'm now 10 weeks without a drink! (there was a time 10 days was an achievement!)
I'm 31 and basically drinking was wrecking my life, ruined friendships, destroyed relationships, health problems, drunk driving, arguments, etc, etc, etc.....so finally manned up and admitted I've got a fairly nasty problem with booze!
I found rehab hard but rewarding and been going to AA since I've left, quite enjoy the meetings and don't really need to be pushed into meetings. It's good to see other members from Ireland here too, this country has a completely messed up relationship with alcohol as our Irish member will testify to I'm sure!
Anyway, glad to be on-board

Thanks for giving me a chuckle today with your sentence above. So true.
Nice job with 10 weeks sober. Fabulous.
Hello Reid. Welcome...10 weeks is quite an achievement. I'm at barely 2 now, just getting into meetings. When I got a complete blood work up to assess any damage my drinking escapades may have done I was very lucky with the results. The Dr. jokingly said 'You must have the luck of the Irish'. My grandfather was from Ireland and a drinker as well...runs in the fam.
Glad to meet you Reid! 10 weeks sober is wonderful.
I commend you for taking this action at 31. I continued on until my life was in shambles.
It's good to have you with us - congratulations!
