Day 1
Today was a day full of regret after a relapse. I am disappointed in myself and feel unworthy of love right now. I think I am going to just cry it out. Today is day 1, and that is a very important day. It is a great accomplishment and I know that this will get easier.
I would give anything to beat this.
Does anybody have any tips/advice/words of encouragement?

You can do this!
Welcome to Day1. Stick to the boards for lots of support whenever you can.
*If you want to cry and find that you cannot, try listening to the song 'Within You' on Ray LaMontagne's album, Till the Sun Turns Black. That usually does the trick.
Hang in there.

Hi Alli,
I have started a journal and write down how I feel daily. It's good to go back and read and see why I can NEVER pick up a drink again. The withdrawals get worse every time ( even drinking a lot less alcohol). Nothing good comes out of drinking. Nothing.

You've got this, AlliH! Best news is that you never have to feel this way again. Congratulations on your Day 1--you're off to a lovely start!
P.S. In the early days (and even now), it really helped to make sure that I didn't get hungry. I often mistook that feeling for a craving. They also say to try to avoid feeling angry, lonely, and tired. Be kind to yourself!
