No Coincidence

Hello all,

Day 3: Been going pretty well today all things considered but it's no coincidence that I'm on line right now. It's that time of the day when I'd be 'rewarding myself with a drink' - 'feeding my addition' and getting that all to familiar rush. Right now the body is screaming at me - 'where is it'. Well it ain't coming so thought I'd just dwell here for a while.

Be strong, push through.

I'm a stay at home dad with my daughter and about 3pm the boredom can set in. With 2 hours to go till my wife's home I use to cave.
I'm now on day 2 and feel you pain, but you can beat this. As can I.

No it ain't comin'...
You have power over that my friend.
Take that first one and you are blown again and the power is gone.
The urge will past.
Some good stuff on here about dealing with cravings.
Somebody will point you in that direction as i don't know how to put the link into my post.
But i do know that putting that poison into yourself will hurt more than you are hurting right now.
You are doing great

Thank you all for those words - it means so much, and Sober32 - you're right we both can.

A couple of corrections - should read 'addiction' obviously, the typing hands were a bit jumpy haha.

The other thing is of course - if I could reward myself with 'a drink' I still would. Unfortunately that reward inevitably results in me later falling unconscious instead of falling asleep - and there's is the reason I'm here.

Thank you all again for the encouraging words - it means so much and counteracts what the demon is saying to me.
