Overdosed - definitely a trigger warning

My daughter overdosed tonight in our home. She's now at the ER on a medical hold, conscious and probably very angry. I'm not going until sometime tomorrow. As of yesterday she was willingly going to treatment tomorrow, but today she decided she didn't want my insurance or the place I found (too "uppity" for her).

She and her ABF used right after I had told them that they had to leave in the morning if she wasn't going in. Just this morning I took him to get a CD assessment and Rule 25 funding. We got him out of the house after the ambulance left. We have had many lucid moments the past 24 hours, most of them today, where we talked about things we had not been able to touch two years ago. I held her head back while on 911, watched her lips turn blue, felt her breath to make sure it was still there. A trauma much like two years ago.

I never was one to believe in the Devil. I know evil exists, sure, but the Devil? He's got my lovely girl by the throat right now. Please pray for us.

I am so very sorry to hear about your daughter, Gardenmama. I pray for your sake that she will see the light. I cannot fathom what it must be like to have to dial while watching your daughter struggling.

I don't really believe in the devil either, but where addiction is concerned, there is something very evil that takes over.

Oh Dear God GardenMama.....I am so sorry!! You are in my prayers!

Oh yes, I believe addiction is the work of Satan but I know God is much more powerful.

Gardenmama, I'm so heartbroken for you and your family. Hopefully, this will be her wake up call to get help (and away from the boyfriend ..) I'm glad you were able to get him out of your home.

My prayers go out, GardenMama, for your daughter, and for all of you.

I went through 3 overdose episodes in my home by my son and I know how your heart just hurts and how frightening it all is. As LMN said, the devil may be powerful but God is more so and I keep my faith that God can do for my son what I cannot.

I am sending big hugs from my heart to yours. And lots of love.

So sorry to hear about this terrible experience. I hope your daughter pulls through this and decides to accept the help you are offering. Can't wait until Evzio becomes widely available. Every family living with a heroin addict (and there are so many these days) should have access to this drug.

That is selfish of her. You can tell her I said so.

GardenMama,

This is heartbreaking. Beyond awful.

But that being said, it's also not surprising. This is what those in the throes of addiction do. They don't care about what the consequences are to either themselves or to others.

Please take care of you and allow whatever is supposed to happen to your daughter happen.
