A Binge...

Well, despite behaving myself for a couple of months, I succumbed to getting drunk over the last three (3) nights......I'm just a useless fool.

I don't think you're useless or a fool CopanoBay

You've been sober for a period of time...you just need to work out how to make that permanent change.

Any ideas?

Copano,
Useless no, fool no, you may be alcohol dependent and the reasons for that are debated on here all the time.
You need to know for now is that there is a solution, that you can't do it alone and that you recovery journey starts right here and now.
The road is rock strewn to start with for some but never give up on yourself and keep trying above all else....
You are worth health and happiness whatever you might be thinking now.
Keep learning, keep posting and keep safe.

You're not a fool, just someone with a problem. Can you identify what set off your binge? If you learn from the experience then it wasn't all in vain.

Give it another go. I think self flagellation is unhelpful.....it promotes the notion of giving up trying

Hey Copano--very familiar with that self-loathing. I'm sure it's off the charts right now. Hold fast, get a couple days, let it pass--LET it PASS--then get back to the good work you were doing up until three nights ago. You can do it. And you haven't ruined what you've accomplished so far. (Why is it so hard to remember how this feels, two or three sober months down the road? I don't know but it's one of the cruelest tricks this condition has for us I think. . .)
