Rang detox going in next week !!!!! Been at the hospital all day with my daughter getting her tonsils out. Ran through coles at 2:30 to grab stuff for her then got a phone call my son in sick bay and was trying to pick my daughter up from Kindy by 2:50 . Mean while had to find my other son that didn't know he was sick!!!! Omg couldn't breathe , went to bottle shop and yep got a bottle anyway looking forward to 7 day detox yep.

why did you get a bottle? that won't help anything best thing to do is pour it away.plenty can happen in a week if you keep drinking

why really ??? That's like asking why am I drinking ?? I'm an alcoholic , I accept that just trying to surrender hence booked into detox . I can't choose not to drink ! Not being rude but it's a disease and I'm in it full swing and I hate it x

I get what your saying but I have no will power I'm in disease it's ugly so please don't ask an alcoholic why it kills me makes me feel worse I'm going to detox to get some sort of clarity and yes my kids are everything to me but still can't stop so yes I feel like a useless piece of ....! I know your trying to help and I thank you x

But your post comes across as you have no choice but to drink, as though you have no option. Yes you're an alcoholic but you can still try and make the best choice now. Tomorrow never comes

Whilst you're booked into detox it's still dangerous to just keep drinking till then. It comes across as you feel you have no choice but to drink .Going to detox won't get you sober on its own. After you come out you'll still have cravings/urges etc.For me it was learning about how to deal with them when they arise. You have to really want to be sober. Maybe tip thebooze away and stay on SR

I've been in AA over a year I get it . Don't pick on me please I know I shouldn't drink and I know I can't deal with life on life's terms but I'm trying and yes yet again I'm failing !!!!! Just getting off here again wanna die now bye

if you must drink until you go into detox, then that's what you must do.

just please be careful. alcohol is not going anywhere... getting drunk is always an option. try not to overdo it and take it a day at a time. best of luck to you

I know it's scary - but I think it's very important for you to try and not think of this week as a 'last hurrah' - a lot of bad stuff can happen in a week, liss.

Well a detox is nice, won't take care of the bigger issue. Even a 30 day inpatient is no guarantee. I wish the detox part do the program was the hardest. Living sober is the challenge. You are going to feel exactly like you do now when your 7 day detox is done. Then what do you want to do?
