just saying its hard to find good advice w/out rude comments

I've been trying to get some peice of mind with the task of finding a job that will allow methadone users to work at their company.... And all I can find is the same old thing= addicts are dumb anyways and we normal people are the happiest of all so there//... That's what there saying and I'm saying f that u can't even comprehend the steps we have to take in life now, just to be happy with what we have! I know when I'm happy or enjoy life and I definitely know when I'm not happy and not enjoying life! Does anyone know the ways to get jobs while taking methadone maintenance program, w/out getting turned down?

Hi Syms - welcome

I have no experience with this but I hope other members will.

Do you go through a clinic, or go to NA? you could ask for ideas in those places too.

Sorry to hear this Syms, are you on a really high dose that you are nodding of?
I have no idea why you need to tell them you are on methadone....
I understand a lot of companies do drug and alcohol screening but if you are obtaining your methadone script via the right channels and not abusing it in the workplace I would say that it is none of their business.

You may wish to look for opportunities in the recovery community.

I agree Notime, if I needed a job I wouldn't tell them as long as I knew I was up for the task at hand! If Syms feels he can handle the job , a little subterfuge is not out of the question, we all need to eat and live! Stay Strong and Well! Bobby
