Made it 14 Days!

Now anxiety creeps in. Does it get less? Today I had to duck behind an aisle in a store to breathe deep breaths, too many people at once at Macy's :/

Day 1 for me, but I had over 2 years once, man I wish I never started back, but yes it gets better and better. I plan on staying away from bars, party's and crowds, never liked them much anyways.

Welcome to the forum, and I hope you feel better soon, keep posting!

Welcome and Congratulations on two weeks! That's awesome.

I'm at almost three months. I had a lot of anxiety in the first month, less in the second, now I still have some anxiety but it doesn't ruin my day, it's just a little annoying.

Welcome to SR Michael.

Congratulations on 14 days.

Early sobriety can be a roller coaster of emotions, the anxiety should get better.

Great job, Michael, 14 days is awesome!

Yes, the anxiety will get better, and go away at some point....you'll be surprised
at what you can face and get through

Best wishes on your sober journey, it only goes up from here

Peace,
~Heartfan

For me I had to deal with my anxiety head on. When I stopped drinking, on it's own, it first got much worse then it got better but it was still always with me. It took a lot of hard work to finally get my anxiety under control. Hang in there and keep breathing deep.

I've decided to take up meditation again which is helping a bit. My cats think the beads I use are a toy though, it's a fun and distracting challenge for us both.
