Scared

I want to quit. But to stop shaking, I eventually go drink a few beers.
I've stopped for 3 days. Now I'm in front of a beer again.

Don't do it. Go for a walk, run, read a book.

Welcome to the Forum!!

Have you seen a Dr? . . . because if stopping means withdrawal symptoms that leads you back to drinking then somehow you need to break that cycle, something for the withdrawals may be needed.

You'll find loads of support here on SR, great to have you onboard!!

Just slowly leave that bottle down and put your hands up.

Hi Doovey,

Welcome. I've been where you're at. First of all congrats on making it to day 3. On my 3rd day I was still feeling shaky and just way 'off'. I knew a drink would take it away but instead visited my local ER and got a script from a doctor to help ease my symptoms and make the whole process a lot safer. This can be dangerous. Can you see a Dr. or visit an ER? Don't take that drink, it will wipe away all the progress you've made and you'll be feeling even worse.

I'm a testament to this. I did it yesterday and wished I hadn't.

Good for you for getting three days sober.

You can get through this today!

Pour out that beer and go to the ER for a medical detox. Drinking to stave off withdrawal just keeps putting it off. You'll never stay sober doing that.
