When sober I'm funnier, smarter and enjoy myself more

Just had people to dinner. My friends and husband drank but all very moderately and none of their personalities changed (like mine does when I drink). I have no problem in social situations not drinking (I tended to drink at home and often secretively).

Tonight I had a great night - lots of good laughs - I am definitely funnier, more engaged, have intelligent comments to contribute and enjoy myself more when I'm sober.

Thanks for this, I feel the same - I am a shadow of the person I am when I drink. I'm not as outgoing when sober but I am more genuine and the experiences I have are much richer. Everyone I talk to is thankful for my not drinking.

Here is to more nights well spent!

I do not isolate myself in my room anymore.
I'm actually getting out and doing things.
Loud music and crying kids do not bother
me as much anymore. This is good!

I feel that I am more of my authentic self when sober. It's amazing, isn't it?!

Well done, alcohol only puts up false fronts, the Sober you is the real you.

So happy you are finding genuine happiness in your sobriety.
Have a great weekend.
