Today I am not going to drink
Sometimes it's one hour, or 5 minutes, but if you break it down, it usually becomes manageable. For me, feeling like I was making the choice not to drink but still having the option to say "maybe in the future" did the trick. I was always putting off when I would drink again-still do as a matter of fact.
"I'd love to drink at this party, but maybe next summer..." Whatever works.
