New to all this
Hello,
I am new to this site and general new to sobriety. I have been sober since April 2, 2014 and so far so good. I'm sure just like anyone else I have my good days and my bad days. I do attend AA meetings at least twice a week, and have already selected a home group, and have chosen a temporary sponsor with hopes that they will become my permanent sponsor. However any suggestions in helping me to not drink are more than welcome. It was my temporary sponsor who suggested the site to me, thinking it would help me stay sober. I am more than willing to try anything as this is not my first attempt, but I am really hoping it's my last!

My sponsor led me in recovery thru her
knowledge, wisdom, experiences and
examples. I chose to keep one primary
sponsor and many many fellow members
who all learned to live their lives without
alcohol or mind altering drugs one day
at a time incorporating a program of
recovery consisting of steps and principles
set down for us to follow on our journey.
There are many tools we can use to help
us not drink and this site for me is and
has been one for a good while now. The only
diiference between here and face to face
meetings, or meetings you find near your
home, is you get to see expressions and
hear voices there. You get to see for yourself
in person the miracles of recovery that
happen right before your eyes.
However, whether here or there you still
can read or hear others share their own
ESH - experiences, strengths and hopes
of what their lives were and are like before,
during and after alcohol.
Memebers will gladly help you and others
with care, understanding and compassion.
To know we never have to go thru anything
in life and recovery alone again. That there
is always someone who has done the same
or similar things we all have done in one time
or another in our life.
Wishing you much guidance and care as
you begin your recovery journey learning
to find happiness with honesty and willingness
each step of the way.

Welcome to the family. Congrats on your sober time - just over a month now, that's a great start. I also depend heavily on this site for inspiration and information. I'm glad you joined us.
