Bingeing on Boxsets

Since I've stopped drinking I'm not going out in the evenings much at all. Instead I'm getting completely into boxsets. We've watched The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, House of Cards, 2 seasons of The Wire. This isn't just watching one episode a night...sometimes 2, 3 or even four in a night! Anyone else doing this? And any good recommendations on boxsets?

It's better than drinking, right? My boyfriend and I became addicted to Breaking Bad. I think we watched like 6 episodes in one night, staying up until 3:00! I'd like to watch Game of Thrones but it's not on Netflix.

Oh man I thought we were talking music of which I have a million.
As far as shows with my adult ADD I'd only make an episode.
But I will throw it out there. Any Bravo Real Housewives.... Can't believe I'm admiting that

Well, I guess as long as there is balance there somewhere, and you aren't drinking!

I was very obsessive in early sobriety, my day was planned down the last minute for fear I'd start the old record playing.

So, for example, every Saturday night I'd have to see a movie...without fail! Now I'm a bit more relaxed!

Also, box sets seem to be the thing at the moment. I wouldn't worry about it!

You could always listen to Eric Clapton 'Crossroads' CD box set while changing the DVDs

My first thought was music as well when I read your thread.

Went through all 8 seasons of House in a very short amount of time. I think Greg House is my favourite ever TV character.

Some good suggestions so far I'd add Lost to the list too.

I'm probably the only one who didnt see it the first time round, but I'm currently obsessed with 24. A dvd/4 episodes per night! Prison Break is next.

I did Breaking bad too. Kind of fell out with it when Hank got snuffed out though.

me I have problems with watching tv while sober.

Its good to see ur trying and maybe if something is not taking ur interst is u do something else. last time I gave up drink I went to the gym. Then I felt great went to gym woked on myself and then went for sauna and steam.

To me it was great, except it was short term. Nothing still to try something new.

There is a link to what can u do, other than what ur doing or feel your doing.

Keep at it xx

I do this too! It takes my mind off drinking and keeps me distracted and entertained. You should check out The Walking Dead, Orange is the New Black, and True Detective. House of Cards and Sons of Anarchy up next for for me!

Enjoyed the first season of 'Orphan Black' but have not watched the second yet.

'DCI Banks' and 'Scott and Bailey' are super detective series - if that is the mood.

'Fake or Fortune' episodes on YouTube were really fun.

Are DCI Banks/Scott & Bailey the UK versions?

Oh, I am absolutely guilty of this)

In addition to what's been mentioned before: The Bridge (both American and original Swedish-Dutch version). Actually, after th Bridge I got interested into Scandinavian moovies. It turned out that they make very decent series!

The Smoke; Rectify; Top of the Lake; Broadchurch.

And, being terribly sick all the previous week and stuck at home, I finally watched the Lost))) In Season 4 now.

Have good time all)

James 186 -

I watched Scott & Bailey on YouTube and DCI Banks wherever I could find it (PBS licensed to show in the US...but I have to search around online for current season).

Yes, UK versions...particularly love Scott & Bailey

NO SPOILERS please buddy. I still have to catch up
