Been sober now six days now no more issues I feel good. But I sometimes hallucinate music. I just went upstairs because I thought a tv was on is that possible? It doesn't happen all the time.

Yeah, I thought that stuff only happened in the movies. The first 3 months I heard music like you described. Totally freaked me out…I didn't even tell anyone. (also detoxed off of benzos after a decade). It went away after month 3. I was getting to the point where I didn't want to look at my daughter's dolls….I was afraid I might see one looking back at me like Bride of Chucky….

Pretty strange but at six days your brain is still unscrambling itself. I wouldn't worry about it other than to smile and say, "that is fricking weird"

Hi Ada welcome to sr and well done on day 6.
I had a whooshing noise like the sea in my ears kept looking if something was switched on. It would come and go for a few months but as MIR says our brains are going through a change unscrambling. (Mines gotta lot to unscramble) lol xx

I do too! It's odd. I'll be laying in bed and think I hear music.

Hey it even has a name, "Brief psychotic disorder." It is brought on by severe stress and is temporary. Quitting drinking is stressful to say the least.

I know a joke about that , I don't knows what's up with me this evening, is it mischievous night, lol, I'm in a silly mood.

My brain did all sorts of weird things in the first 3 to 6 months PAWS (Post acute withdrawal symptoms) The most alarming was blanking out for 2 to 3 minutes and having no memory of what had happened. Slowly but surely the weirdness went away

I am very sorry and do not mean to make light of real disorders that need professional treatment. I do know that my drug and alcohol abuse caused various problems both sort term and permanent

No apology needed, I have been certified sane, following extensive treatment. It goes on, I find humour in it, actually, not shame. It is what it is. The music is usually very good. Angelic orchestra. I see it as the universe speaking to me, and find it somewhat comforting.

I just had an ah ha moment, perhaps it is just radio waves bouncing off all the mercury and metal in my body. I have had a lot of reconstructive surgery with plates, pins, screws...you name it and am of the age when they still used mercury for dental fillings.
Whatever...all is good.

I get that but most times, not always, it's when I'm sleeping and I wake up thinking I hear music or the television on. It wakes me and it continues upon waking. I always get up and check for the source of the sound but there never is one. I've even been known to walk out into the breezeway of my apartment building and listen to see if I hear noise coming from another apartment.

I also experience something I've seen referred to as "exploding head syndrome". Just as I'm about to fall asleep I'll hear a huge explosion type noise. Scares the bejeezus out of me!

I can't wait to tell my doctor I've finally figured out I've got "Temporary Party in the Head" syndrome! Who knew? lol

Personally I think any kind of hallucination need to investigated, but it's up to you adaster.

Do see a Dr if you're concerned.
