Semi-OT, here is an example of someone with no boundaries

When I was in college, I took this English course where you had to come in outside of class for an hour long conference on all of your 4 papers. During these conferences, she would reveal personal information about other students in the class, like if they were written in a paper.

Brutal. I would have started writing papers about craptastic college professors.

She told me about a girl in the class who got arrested. She also told one of my classmates that two boys in the class were gay.

Why would a professor do that?

Made them feel omniscient I imagine. To know all these personal things and then share them...

If the professor used names and identified the students, that's a breach of ethics. If the professor didn't use names or identify exactly who the paper belonged to, that's just called a "case study".
