When did you get to the point where you could actually have dreams and a future?
For years dealing with each episode consumed me, once I separated I learned to break away but even then there are still realities to deal with after being married so long...when did your recovery get you to a place where you could dream about possibilities and not heartache.

It happens slowly but surely each day we are sober. If you are like me. I want, what I want, and I want it now. Plus i shouldn't have to work for it.
Unfortunately recovery is a slow and steady improvement that can only be seen by looking backwards

I'm not there yet. I dream about it, plan about it but have yet to actually do anything proactive about getting to that goal. I try to tell myself I'm taking baby steps and thinking about a life beyond this mess is the first step. It started when I realized there's no repairing the relationship and I can't live like this much longer.
