hello im new here
Hello thought i would introduce myself. Im new here. I dont know much to say other than i want to minimize my drinking. I drink about 4 187 ml little bottles of wine every day. And i hav noticed my health going south for months now.... one thing i want to point out is about a year and a half ago i was drinking but not as much as i have been. However it was often and i quitfor months. And when i did quit i noticed i was a lot happier after a while. It realy does effect your mood. I hope to quit or at least minimalize my drinking again and feel better again. Physical symptoms i have noticed are: upset stomach, diahhrea, nerves in the abdomen, fatigue, craving for alcohol, muscle aches. Today it was bad. I woke up did some errands and felt too tired and my digestion was too bad to go into work. I dont call into work often but fridays are slow at my job so i figured it would be alright to call in. Some of the symptoms i list i dont know for sure if they relate to drinking i dont have healh insurance so i dont honestly know everything going on with me. Its just based n research. Anyways. I hope to minimalize if not illiminate my drinking and i look forward to any support i may recieve and hopefully i will be able to support you folks as well

Welcome to SR!
Plenty of support and great folks here.
Personally I tried minimizing my Alcohol intake for years. The bare thought of never drinking again honestly terrified me. How would I socialize? How would I deal with stress? Suffice to say that moderation never worked for me a d became a full time job, grinding at my self esteem, my finances, my health. Until one day I decided enough is enough.

Hi sockrocket, and welcome.
I can't really give you any advice on minimizing your alcohol intake. I'm an alcoholic. Every time I tried to moderate I failed. If your life is better and happier without alcohol, like mine is, why not go for complete abstinence? For me it is so much easier to eliminate it altogether.
SR is an awesome place for support. Keep posting. Best wishes!

You have found a great resource for learning about drinking and the effects it has had in peoples lives, and how they have helped themselves and others. Spend a lot of time reading, cruise around the different categories, and see how much of what you read rings true in your own situation. Best wishes.
Welcome sockrocket
I have no advice on cutting back either. Tried for 20 years never could.
All the best intentions in the world go out the window after that first glass.
I expect you've tried to cut back before too?

Glad to meet you sockrocket!
I was also unsuccessful in controlling the amounts I drank. It became too dangerous for me to continue. I hope you'll find the answers you're seeking here.
