Another lost to the disease of addiction.

I only hung out with her a couple of times but I went to school with her. and I saw her at a meeting a week ago.. she was with her mom.
She overdosed a few days ago and is dead at the age of 20. Just heartbreaking.
God help us.

When I hear of news like that- it makes me want to be as clean as possible.
When I was in the hospital- it came across the TV- that my chiropractor ODed. That explained why he wore heavy long sleave sweaters in 90 degree temps.

It is a reminder how deadly this disease literally is. I'm sorry for your loss. I think we all feel like we've lost a comrade even if we didn't know someone when this type of thing happens as we can identify with their struggles.
But by the grace of God there go I. Unfortunately the longer you were in the recovery community the more death and destruction you will see.
Getting sober truely is a matter of life and death

I am so sorry for your loss. To lose someone so young, it makes it seem so unfair. You're not supposed to die at 20. Even as an addict. You hear the stories of how it could kill you and you convince yourself that you'll get sober in the future, but you can still have fun right now when you're young and not yet ravaged by the disease.
Remain strong, and remember her well.
