Night 6

So it's night six. I think I may have developed an unwanted dependence on benzos from my detoxes. (they don't make me feel good or bad. I wasn't taking them for pleasure) Every time I take Ativan for detox, three days later I feel miserable with benzo withdrawal symptoms for about 5 days.

I think they are minor so I'm just going to deal with them. They are unpleasant to say the least.

Lethargy, flu like symptoms, tinnitus, lack of focus, high anxiety.

I'm hoping they go away though.

I'm still sober, and I'm happy about that.

No one has had this happen on day 5 and 6 from alcohol right?

I'd be tempted to say that it's probably coming from the lack of alcohol. I detoxed on librium for 3 days I think it was - I added Diazepam into that mix though but after the three days or 4 I can't remember your basically considered over the worst symptoms but not all of them. So you will still be experiencing withdrawl

Sounds like alcohol withdrawal. I had those symptoms for several weeks, but I'm older than you too. Hang in there, it should start improving soon! Well done on 6 days!

Each time you go back to drinking the withdrawals tend to get longer/stronger/generally worse. You should be nearing the acute withdrawals soon though, hope you start feeling better. Congrats on Day 6!

ScottfromWI is correct, it tends to get worse every time. Google up "alcohol withdrawal kindling" for details.
