Proud of myself

I woke up this morning with my back killing me, slept wrong and the weather is cold and rainy. Now let me tell you what happened.
So, I missed this phone call this morning and after a few minutes I call it back. It is the neighbor of a guy I used to get pills from, they say the guy moved but they knew he got pills for me before. I guess he used their phone to call me before. They tell me they are getting some pills today and wondered if I wanted some. I tell them I don't do that anymore and asked them to never call me again. If they do call me again I am going to tell them I am going to call the police and give them their number.
I am so proud of myself for saying no, especially considering how bad my back is hurting. I think I slept wrong plus the weather. I even had that little voice saying "go ahead and get a couple of pills to get you through the day, you will feel better."

Thanks obosob for posting "pride cometh before the fall" this morning in the April class thread. It helped me remember to keep my guard up.

I also want to thank ALL of you here. I don't think I could do it without your help.

Thanks, I had hung up and put my phone down and the AV started up again. Just call back it won't be a big deal, you got the money. Well I picked up the phone, deleted the number from the call list and laughed at the AV.

Awesome job!!! Also if you are getting those kind of calls you might want to consider changing your phone number. If this is not feasible, get Mr Number: it's a free android app that blocks calls and texts and can either send them to voicemail or hang up on them. I love that app https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...number.blocker

Wow...very smart of you to tell them you would call police and give them their number if they tried again. Wow. I'm impressed and amazed at how well you protected yourself.

Early on a guy one guy kept calling, had to block his number. This was the first call in a couple weeks. Don't see many more coming especially if I start threatening to call the cops. I will keep it in mind though.

You did a great job, and that is very inspiring to me. I'm going to remember that if I'm in a similar situation. If you keep this up, you'll need to pick a new user name!

I think another thing that helps me be able to say no is I did a lot of self reflection and addressed a lot of pain from my past that I think I was repressing.
