Sober birthday reflections
Sober birthday reflections
I'm just finishing up month 5 and tomorrow is my birthday. 43. I' scared to reflect and count how many sober birthdays I've had. All I know is that the boozy b-days will outnumber the sober ones. Anyway, I just want to say that while I have not been posting a lot these days, I still read every day and i'm not drinking. I'm still living in an alcoholic environment as my wife is still really struggling. But I'm fine. I get sad sometimes, but a sober today and a sober tomorrow is my priority.
Thanks again SR, I couldn't be doing this without All of you. There's strength in community, even online.

Happy birthday for tomorrow, Malcolm. 42 is a good time to find your sober feet - I was a decade older than that and 43 is a brilliant age to be Very well done on 5 months too, especially considering how challenging it must be for you. I hope you're truly proud
Happy Birthday. Just did my crossfit coming up on a birthday myself and will be doing my age in burpees (more than 43) this year as a tradition. It's been great having you here. See you back in the KA thread and congrats again.
Always good to see you. 5 months is wonderful - we know how hard you worked to get there.
HeadLump's right - 43 is a great age to be - and sober at that. I was much older when I stopped - you're doing great.

I'm new to SR. I've been sober 1 month and 5 months is incredible to me. Congrats to you! I can't imagine doing it in an alcoholic environment. You should feel so proud. Thanks for inspiring a newcomer. Happy birthday!
