She just won't quit...

At 1 am last night, I received a call from CARON saying my daughter was being taken to a mental health unit because she threatened self harm. She has done this at home as a way of acting out, but this facility is not like our nice, suburban ER. She will be held for 72 hours. It will be scary. At her last treatment center (Caron is her third in less than 4 months), she was able to convince her psych doc to give her Xanax for anxiety, her drug of choice for abuse. It set her back. As soon as I think things are good, they are bad. The rollercoaster continues. My next FA meeting is on Tuesday and I wish it were now.

audreyrose: Crisis is good. It is many times where our loved ones have that moment of clarity that moves them closer to recovery. You have bottomed out on this one, but that does not mean you daughter has. But seeds will be sown here.

Could you find an Al-Anon meeting in your area in the meantime? Tuesday is a long way away for the situation that you are facing... If not, get on here and hang around reading all the good stuff that is here...

Audreyrose,
this must be so hard for you. and for her too. It hurts my heart for you.

I like what sojourner said, that crisis is good. we will hold that as a hope.
praying for her to be reached and helped this time.

hugs

It's all backwards for us mamas. Crisis means help and we never know when something good might connect. I will keep your daughter in my prayers that this may lead her to a desire to commit to her recovery.

Hugs
