I'm MESSIAHBRIDE and 8 days sober today! 8 days ago I finally admitted that I'm an alcoholic and have no power over it. Thought I was just fine because I only drank when I got off work, after two suicide attempts and Jesus saving me from them, I know I am powerless and ever so blessed.

Without my faith I would be dead by now. I have no power over alcohol, too.

Yep it's the nature of the beast, for many of us it takes something terrible to happen to wake up from the slumber.

I spent years insisting I could use willpower to control myself. It never worked once. The only answer was to kick it out of my life all together. It's wonderful to be free. Glad to have you with us.
