Detox almost complete
Almost done detoxing and ready to look to the future of a sober me. I won't go into the symptoms as everyone on here likely knows all them.
It sucks. It's part of it. I'm under a doctor's care and I recommend others that will be as well. It can kill you.

I never went the doctor route for detox, but the last 2 or 3 times were frightening enough that I maybe should have. This last time, my blood pressure was 190/118 the first day and my heart rate was high, too, and erratic. Anxiety wasn't helping things either. I was a physical and emotional wreck. Glad to hear you're getting help and on the down swing from it.

I just got back home. went to dinner with my wife. Came home, threw it up.
I'm not shaky though... This is the last day I have to feel like this. I threw up blood just now. Its an ulcer according to doctors, but blood is much scarier than stomach contents.
My doctor knows all of this.
I'm a 26 year old software engineer. This shouldn't happen to me. I shouldn't have had abusive parents who were alcoholics. I shouldn't have gotten this far down. My entire life I've dedicated to foster care children. I help people. As a volunteer.

Don't start confusing yourself with your addiction and beating yourself up, Justim
You've got every reason in the world not to drink again - all you have to do is remember that.
Every single time 'the Thought' comes into your mind, dismiss it utterly.
If you can't, don't panic - get help.
You can do this
