Stay sober weekend thread - 4/25-27
Hey everyone! Another sober weekend on our hands.
What the plan? What action will you take to stay sober.
Being sober is not a passive state of being. It's an active deliberate way of life.
Me? I think exercise will be the second on my list this weekend.
Followed by trying a new restaurant third.
Forth will be going to a movie. There are a few I want to see.
Hmmm... Did I skip anything?
Cuz staying sober will always be number one!
Let's do it together!

This weekend is going to be hard fir me. Lots of big changes in my life. Saying goodbye to a job and people I love to relocate to another province. Stress of moving, last minute things, all this weekend. I am going to stay sober though, but i know its going to be emotionally uncomfortable.
Good Morning Weekenders!!
As usual kicking Friday morning off with a strong coffee!!
I'm off work all this weekend, no plan finalised yet, but probably gonna involve catching up on plenty of sport, World Championship Snooker is almost into the second week, Premier League has a crucial match on Sunday afternoon, and I can sit up for the late NHL games for the next 2 nights.
For anyone struggling to manage not having a drink when doing things at the weekend, or has a pit of the stomach kinda fear how to have a social life without drinking, be re assured it can be done!!
I now watch/attend as much sport as I used to do, if not more, and I don't need a beer in hand to do it, my new found interest is knowing all the stats without a hangover the next morning, that feeling is priceless!!

Morning Weasey and weekendies
I Have a super busy day ( medical board exams) and weekend, the important thing for me is to keep moving....as in exercise! I do not want to be known as the neighborhood weeble with the cute dog.... ( weebles wobble but they don't fall down)....starting every day with planks and push-ups angled out from the kitchen counter is much better than barfing in the sink with a hangover.
No bacon available, but turkey sausage, softboiled egg and a waffle.

Weekend warriors!!
My plans rarely deviate as y'all's weekends are my work week, but still checking in all the same (maybe there can be the weekday weekend thread for those who are off at the beginning of the week? I'm sure I'm not alone! )
Anyway! Sober and riding the waves! I love to read all the plans everybody has. Makes me wish I had weekends off too, even with all the triggers I'm sure it involves. Being off Monday Tuesday Wednesday when others are just back to the grind was cool the first couple of years (na na na, I'm off on your Monday, na na na, type thing) but it's since become a bit tiresome. Nobody wants to do anything during the week! No movies, anything, it seems. It's all work and sleep.
I guess I can relate, as I'm never free to do anything on the weekends because all I'm doing is working and sleeping. Ha.

I'm in for my first sober weekend. Planning some gardening (I started growing veggies!), visiting relatives on Saturday, making a plan for staying sober, going to a rally against animal abuse, going to movies, reading, doing a clear out of house, anything except drinking.

We made it to the weekend, thats the impressive part*
Another week has gone by, and every Friday morning in my group with the 31 guys I live with, I tell everyone what a great job they did all week to be "clean and serene". The weekend to me was work work work for years, and drink during the week (and at work of course) so everyone give yourselves a pat on the back and give yourself a break. We are here and thats a great thing! Have an awesome weekend!
Snaggle good job, I remember my first sober weekend- both exhilerating and frightening! I remember how good and proud I felt sunday night sober...and you will too!
For me, this weekend kicks off 60 days clean and sober- and modern record! I am finally staring to feel normal (al least physically), and am embracing lifes challenges rather than running from them. Looking forward to my snowbird Mom retuning, some yard work, time with family, good food, and resting up for next week.

I'm in. Not sure what I'm ding today other than working. I usually go to a great meeting on Fridays but my mom mentioned something about going out to dinner for my sister in laws birthday. There won't be any drinking involved with that. I just haven't had a meeting in over a week and I can tell.
Saturday is busy. First baseball game for my son. Piano practices. Just regular stuff. But now I have to get lunches ready and kids dressed. Life! Embrace the mundanity!
