So much for day 2

Well I made it thru day 1, but day 2 and I'm drinking. Nice. Can't even make it thru 2 days. Thinking maybe I don't really want to quit. Going into work after drinking 1/2 a bottle of wine. Taking the rest in with me. I know I shouldn't, but I'm doing it anyway. Dang it!

I'm sorry to hear that. Wish you wouldn't take it with you. That's kind of scary.

Maybe you don't. But if you are serious, take the bottle into the lavatory and dump it in the toilet.

Then recommitt. No one gets sober by drinking.

Are you sure about that? I sort of doubt you'd come back here if you didn't have some desire to quit drinking.

Many cannot quit without some local/tangible support - have you considered a group meeting like AA/NA? Or how about some kind of detox/rehab program?

I am on Day 2 and it is hard. I got the SR app on my phone and I read and post anytime I need that extra boost of commitment. I am surprised at how much it has helped (that and running on the treadmill).

Recommit, you can do it.

Please reconsider taking the rest of the wine with you; really sounds as though that could be trouble.

Keep posting; we are here for you.

Hi itsfinallytime. I did that sort of thing many times. I don't know why I expected a different outcome every time I picked up. I knew it always led back to misery and regret. Please don't give up on yourself. You can do this. Keep talking to us.

I always thought day two was harder than day one. There's always tomorrow to start over...you can do it.

But maybe the leave the bottle of wine at home? It will be there after work if you really want it. And I suspect you won't.

I know I have to have no wine in the house. Maybe try that this time?

Alcohol is a terrible thing to stop.

But you can most definitely do this. I am on day 1, hanging on tight to the hope I have left. If I can do this so can you.

Oh I totally feel for you! I've had so many false starts I lost count. The important thing is that you keep trying.

I think many here can relate to recommitting several times. After two hard fought days last week, I gave into day 3. I'm not giving up, this is day one for me again, but this time I am going to make it.

Take other's advise here and leave the bottle at home. I also had a problem of drinking at work and there is nothing positive that can come of it.

You can do this. Post, Post, Post and listen to the life experiences of the people at SR. You are not alone.

Good luck!

You are all so wonderful. Thank you for your encouraging posts! Well, I did drink the rest of that bottle at work and 2 more when I got home. I tried to go to an AA meeting, but it's difficult to find an address when you're drunk. So from there I went to the bar and drank 2 bloody mary's with a friend until I blacked out. My wonderful husband came and got me. Of course he thinks a couple of bloody mary's is all I had. Ha! Not even close!
Anyway I'm going to go to a meeting tonight and try this again. Im so disgusted with myself. I have to do this
