Anyone planning today to be Day 1? I am!

I've lurked, then posted a few times, but I (finally) want today to be my Day 1. I'm a stay at home mom of two little ones. I quite simply started to enjoy and then "need" my wine, too much. Soon it became a crutch or a reason/reward for every emotion. Hard day, need it. Good day, deserve it. Wednesday, just want it.

Also going to check back in on the Moms/Mums thread.

Anyone else! Let's do this.

Applekat, what is your plan? I will try AA on Friday. And I need to figure out other routines and thing to do during evenings and weekends that does not involve wine.

My plan is focusing on today and tonight. It's only 9 AM here. A jog later, taking the kids out and away from the house for the afternoon. Herbal tea and bubble bath and a book tonight with some mindless television then bed. Hope I don't get too shaky and too many night sweats etc.

Also number 1, almost forgot - no wine in the house!!! My hubby has a few beers left from the weekend but that shouldn't tempt me.

I have Caroline knapp's book, Drinking: A Love Story. I really wanted to pick up a couple other recovery related books but couldn't find them in stock nearby. So I may be doing an amazon order today too.

Anyone else want to share their plan?

Laura my toughest time of day will be about 4-8 PM. And then the weekends. Trying not to think too far ahead though.

Exactly the same for me with the times. Do you live in the States? I myself lurk around in Northern Europe, so here it will be 4pm in about an hour.

Yup I'm in New York. What time do your kids go to bed? What will your evening/night routine be?

They go to bed about nine, I will try to keep busy, go for a walk and maybe rent a movie. I know that the first days will be ok, the I will try to think I can moderate....sigh..
What will you be doing in the evening?

Sometimes watching an addiction themed movie or an intervention helps remind me why I want to have my day 1 and more.

My plan tonight is bubble bath, watching survivor and having a cup of bedtime tea. And prob a bowl of ice cream!

Maybe try writing down how you feel/felt in the crummiest of states and go back and re-read!

Have you had much in the way of withdrawals before around day 1 or 2?

Not so bad, but trouble sleeping and sweating through the first nights. And irritated...
