Day 3 of Sobriety

Today is a good day because I haven't picked up a drink (it is only 1.30 pm here). Having has a period of sobriety (over 6 years) - I can get caught up in being terrified but the vigilance I must maintain every day not to drink. I do realise this is probably not helpful and feeds the 'well I've failed so many times in the last 4.5 years, so I may as well drink anyway' thoughts.

But today I am being productive and treating myself with care and respect - by not drinking alcohol, eating well and doing some exercise.

Thanks to SR

Well done! Look how far you have come in a few days since your first post. Give yourself a pat on the back, that is really wonderful x

Keep going, stay strong. Watch out for the evening, and make sure you don't get too hungry or tired. I think I ate tea at 530pm every day in early sobriety!

Hi FeelingGreat - yeah I'm pretty conscious about the hunger thing - I must really think about tiredness too. Dinner has been early. I've got a plan organised for tomorrow's dinner because it can be tempting to drink after my last day of work for the week. This forum is great because other people actually know the alcoholic triggers.
