Day 2 and Back on the Horse

Day 2 and back on the horse. Feel like I need to plan out every day because if there is boredom then things can be a bit risky. I'm heading to AA today which will be great. I haven't been in a couple of weeks so it will be nice to see some familiar faces.

Thanks for all your support.

I also thought about how I need to do things a little differently this time around and have come to conclusion that I have to make sobriety #1. I have all of these other activities (coaching softball and coordinating dinners for my friends) but what I really need to focus on myself. I might need to scale back that stuff to really concentrate on the task at hand.

I also need to seek out a sponsor which is someone I had with my first 30 days of sobriety.

Hang in there... your intentions are in the right place and you will prevail with persistence.

Just like you, the key for me is not being bored. I actually don't think coaching softball is a bad idea at all (do you think much about drinking when coaching? if not, that's great!). Personally, I think if you are focusing directly on remaining sober, it makes it tougher to avoid the booze since you're constantly shuffling through thoughts related to it. If you can somehow focus your attention on tasks that you can do for extended periods of time, I think it'd be easier. Everyone is a little different though - I've just found this approach works for me.

Yeah I hear you Relobe softball coaching is great and I really like teaching people the game. Honestly, if I think about there are only a couple of people that drink on the team. I just have watch out for triggers.

On another note I just got from a noon meeting. I saw some familiar faces which was great. Plan on going to Happy Hour tonight.

Oh I see, I thought you meant it was a kids softball league. If it's a beer league... you might want to steer clear. Then again maybe not... it's really hard (in my opinion) to find new hobbies that you really get into, but at the same time it's likely one of the biggest factors to success. If you have any old hobbies you gave up at some point, try picking them back up.

Stay going to those meetings and keep up the great work.
