Bored

Don't know what to do with my self. I'm just so bored, I live alone an have no cable. My friends are all drinking now so hanging out with them is a no no. Any ideas?? Sorry I'm complaining I just need to put the thoughts down somewhere.

It's okay to rant...don't be sorry.

I am also alone. My parents are asleep downstairs. This is my favourite time of night before I go to sleep. I like to read, write my journal and post on SR. Sometimes I watch a movie.

My favourite quote is "this too shall pass". I remember that when I'm feeling lonely, and tomorrow is a new day and the sun shall shine again.

Youtube movies? TedTalks on Youtube? AA speakers on Youtube?

Listen to music and write in a journal?

Take up painting or drawing or knitting or model airplanes?

I'm cooking and checking out SR. No television or radio on. Went to an AA meeting earlier. Washed the dishes from cooking. It may sound boring but I'm not bored.

Thanks everyone. I stayed busy I think I was just bummed I couldn't be with my friends . Hard isolating for people just because they drink. But glad I'm sober

There's a ton of stuff on the 'net! Stuff to watch on youtube, there's Vevo where you can watch tons of TV free (and it's legal, btw). Many informative sites, colleges that offer MOOCs (free online classes), a lot of stuff you can learn. Stanford has free online classes.

I go to school FT and work FT so there's not a lot of time to be bored. But now that I'm sober there's a lot to do! This is an awkward time for you I suppose; sobriety is new and you feel as wobbly as a baby fawn. That will pass. You're doing great to have made it this far!

Things will get better. Just wait and see.

It's time to pick up a hobby. Book clubs, sports, foreign movies etc. You'll be amazed at what you have time for.

I lost a few drinking buddies MyTime but I rediscovered a lot of old friends and made news ones - friends who were a better fit for who I was becoming, rather than who I used to be y'know?

Give it a little time

D
